At this point, I'm trying not to get too excited because I know that an offer is just the first hurtle to get over. The appraisal is tomorrow and the inspection is on Monday, so we could use a few prayers this weekend....
Follow along as we document our latest journey, the joy of being SECOND time parents!

Offers, Appraisal, Inspection--Oh MY!
Ladies and Gentlemen...we are waist deep it this house selling thing! Our realtor called us on 8/4 (our anniversary...) to let us know that we had an offer come in. Needless to say we were happy to hear that just 15 days in. Being that we are on a main road, next to a daycare and there are high-tension power lines close by we were concerned that it might take a little while (none of that is really an issue for us but could be for many). We had another showing later that day and lucky us, a second offer! We decided to go with the first one, but it sure was a good feeling to know that more than one person wanted our house :)

Watch Out World (At Least, Sis)
Ben is on his way to walking!! He has been testing his legs while holding on to just one finger and doing laps around the coffee table/footstool with minimal touching for awhile now. But with the latest round of Strep putting him down and out this week we haven't seen him trying to do much more than cuddle. But today, that all changed when Ben took his first series of unassisted steps! I'm sure it won't be long before he is RUNNING around like a crazy man! So fun!!!

For Sale
I have been MIA (once again) but with good reason this time. I have FINALLY accomplished on of the goals I have had for years and it has taken five weeks of sorting, cleaning, purging and fixing every room in our house. All to get it ready for this moment:
And truthfully, I can't believe it is here! MJ and I have been debating to sell the house for a few years now and it looks like it just might be a good time to do so. Everyone asks "where are you going?" and honestly, we are not sure at the moment. But we do know that we would like to move into a subdivision, have a little less house to clean, and hopefully be a little closer to MJ's work. Things are selling pretty fast but, we really can't start looking until we get an offer. So for now, we just wait and keep the place CLEAN!
Wish us luck! And, no the kids do not come with the house ;)

Watch Out, Here He Comes
Summertime fun is here for sure! The kids are playing at Gramps and Grandma's house today and are having a blast! Take a look for yourself:
Don't blink or you will miss Abby speeding by! It's amazing to think about how much they learn in such a short time.
Happy Saturday to you and your's :)

Look Mom, No Hands!
He might no be walking yet, but that doesn't mean he's not building the skills to. Ben has been getting pretty good at standing on his own and is practicing more and more each day. On Tuesday, he pulled up then let go and just smiled at me. It was like he was saying, "oh--this is fun". Here is a little bit of today's practice:
I'm sure he will be off and running before too long!

Pancake Time
Happy Saturday to you! In celebration of the long weekend, Abby had a new friend for breakfast:
Yah, I know it's a little early for M&Ms, but it's the weekend. And Abby is on a "no blueberry" kick so I figured, why not?
I hope your breakfast is as fun or yummy!

Rock On
It was party time at Abby's school and she had a blast jumping in the bounce house, riding the train and getting her butterfly painted on her arm. Then she decided to try the rock wall. I thought the line would get the best of her but she stuck to it and waited like a big girl. Then I figured she wouldn't let them get the harness on, but I was wrong again. I can't believe how much she is growing up into a big girl. Most days I live in denial but then we have days like today where you just can't deny it any longer. And on these days I try to remember to stop and take it all in because I know this will all go by much too fast.
Here is my big girl climbing the rock wall!
That was as far as she wanted to go but I was so proud of her for being brave enough to try it at all!
I love you Abigail!!

Happy Happy Mother's Day
I must admit, being a Mommy of two is a wonderful thing! I feel so blessed to have such amazing children, part of me is willing to do it 100 more times and the other part screams "stop while you are ahead!". Either way, today was a celebration of my wonderful life! Abby, Ben and Michael made today special and I felt so loved. Here are two of my three favorite things in this world (someone had to take the picture....)
To all the other Mom's out there--We hope you had a wonderful day too!

ONE
I can't believe that Ben is one today. I honestly do not know where that year went! But I do know that Ben is an amazing little boy who brings such joy to our family.
Here is a quick run down of Ben's stats: Ben is easy going and happy 97% of the time. He is a good napper unless he is getting a new tooth, loves to be tickeled and be chased as well as eat anything in the bread/cracker family. Ben is crawling like a champ and starting to stand unassisted for a few seconds here and there. Ben is well travled, for a one year old that is, having been to Colorado and Florida this past year. Ben currently has two bottom teeth and one top tooth and is working on one or two more top ones. As far as size goes, there is no denying he is one of mine. He is currently too long for 9 month winter stuff but too skinny for 12 month stuff (he has been know to crawl right out of his pants...) so I think I'm going to put him in 9 month summer stuff for now. We have his one year appointment later this month so I don't know hard numbers for height and weight right now.
And as far a sisters go, Ben thinks Abby is the best! It has been so much fun to watch Abby and Ben grow and play together this past year. Abby clearly LOVES her brother and he loves her too. Ben likes to play close to Abby or be able to see what she is doing. He loves to tackle her and smoosh faces with her. And needless to say, Abby always wants Ben to watch her do something, or wants to help Ben with something. I don't think Ben would know what to do without her. One of my favorite things he does right now is yell "Ab-ba" when he hears her upstairs or downstairs as if he is searching for her. It is sooooo cute!
And now for the cute stuff:
Ben, Thank you for an amazing first year! We are so lucky to have oyu as a son and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

It Can't Be...
A tooth!??!??! I can't believe Ben has cut his first tooth already! You can't see it but you can feel it.
For those of you keeping track, that is half the time it took Abby to cut her first tooth (16 months 6 days vs 8 months 22 days). It might be a good thing he started drinking from a sippy cup this week too. Say a prayer for me if you get the chance...one good CHOMP and we are done!

Ride On!
What a perfect day for a bike (or stroller) ride! It was hard to believe that it is still only January, but we made sure to take advantage of the 52 degree day. I suggested that we go for a walk but Abby insisted on taking her new bike for a spin. All that practicing in the house paid off--as soon as she got that bike to the sidewalk, she was off! We made it .6 of a mike before she agreed to turn around and then, she wanted to add on the loop on the way back. Even after I told her it would take us longer to get home. By the end of our trip she was ready to go inside because her eyes were freezing. I just laughed.
Ben didn't seem to mind our long adventure outside either.
Looks like we are going to log lots of miles this summer! Watch out Frosty Boy, we know where you are and Abby is determined to make it to you as soon as possible!

Dinner!
Five days ago I visited the doctor to discuss Ben's lack of eating food. After tonight, I know that there is nothing to worry about!
Looks like Ben is a fan of Italian and all I have to say is "eat on Ben, eat on"!

Let the Chasing Begin!
Ben is a growing boy! He started sitting up in late December
And started giving kisses around the same time. He says "Mama" when I get him up in the morning and from naps. He says "Dada" too! And yesterday he started army and roly-poly "crawling".
Life at the Johnson abode is never going to be the same!
Oh, and here is Sis with her blue sucker tongue :)
