Saturday brought us to our Annual Fun Town visit with the Wolven family! We had a great time as always--though we laughed at how times have changed now that we both have little ones--and stuffed ourselves on a delicious chicken dinner at The Bavarian Inn. After our yummy eats, we headed over to Bronner's for a little shopping! Abby LOVED all the sights, music and people and wanted to touch everything. It was so much fun to watch her take it all in.
Follow along as we document our latest journey, the joy of being SECOND time parents!

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!!!
Today was a GREAT day! I am oh-so-happy to report that I not only survived my first Turkey Trot but I completed it, without walking, in just 35 minutes and 17 seconds!!! Not too bad if I do say so myself!! I had a great time with Michael, Mark and Paul...can't wait to do it again next year :)
Next we headed back to the Johnson's house for a wonderful, home cooked breakfast--mimosas, waffles, sausage, bacon, cinnamon rolls, and a little fruit. Yummy! Needless to say, I managed to eat all the calories I ran off (and then some). Good thing it's a holiday and calories don't exist today ;)
Our next stop was Gamps and Grandma D's house for a delicious turkey dinner with all the fix'ns! Yummmmmmmmmy! After dinner we played a few games with the fam, at some yummy pie/cake/brownies and colored with Abby.
Now it is time for a loooooooooonnnnnnnggggggg nap so that I can get up at 5 a.m. in order to hit Joann's at 6! Happy Turkey Day to all!

Trotter in Training
Well folks, I'm not one who enjoys running but I have managed to sign myself up for the Detroit Turkey Trot this year! I figured that once I made the commitment to run a 5k I would have to get off my behind and start working out (I am still working on loosing some of my "Abby-weight"and had hoped to have it off by the end of the year).
Unfortunately, being the procrastinator that I am, I just started running on Friday. Yes, two short week before the big day. Hey, better late than never and it could have been worse (waiting til next week to see if I could make it the 3.2 miles w/o dieing) right!?! As of now, my goal is to finnish the Stuffing Strut (5k) with out stopping...
I am happy to report that:
a) I can "run" 3 miles in less than an hour (I wasn't sure how long it would take with my short legs)
b) I can make it 3 miles without stopping,
c) I am learning that I have muscles that I didn't know I had (boy am I sore)
Stay tuned for updates!

Chirstmas in Coming...
Yes, it is hard to believe but it is time to start thinking Christmas!!! Well, at least it is if you are planning on sending custom cards or gifts... (***Disclaimer, I've been a Shutterfly user since Abby was born and LOVE their products (and now I love them a bit more--Fellow bloggers be sure to check out the entire post ;P ) ***)
I have to say that I LOVED our Christmas card last year!! After hours of searching on the web for a card we LOVED, we wound up back at Shutterfly and the Dotted Collage Holiday Card (I'm one of those shoppers--I search and search and search just to wind up back at the first place I looked!!). Not only did Shutterfly have the cutest cards, I felt comfortable ordering from them because I knew from using their services for prints and photo books that they would be of high quality and get here in time for us to mail them (Yeah, we were a little behind and had to rush them...oooops!!). It looked like this:
One of the best parts about this card is that it could also double as Abby's announcements (since we did not get those out before Christmas....Double Ooops!). We added three photos of Abby (birth, Halloween and Thanksgiving) so our friends and family could see our little one in action.
These cards were just PERFECT and now I'm addicted to Shutterfly cards and have created cards for St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day (well, MJ did anyway), Father's Day, Halloween and yes for Christmas again this year! There is just one problem, there are over 740 different Christmas cards to choose from this year--how am I ever going to decide?? Maybe it will be one of their Support a Cause cards, the Oh-so-cute Cool Peppermint Dots folded card, or the adorable Spot the Snowflakes flat card...OH THE DECISIONS!!!!!
On another note, I think I might just have to have a holiday party of some sort just so I can send out this invitation...sooooo cute!
Looking for a personalized gift or two this holiday season? Shutterfly has lots of those too! I LOVE this desk calendar (LOTS of very cute backgrounds and layouts to choose from...I will be sure to make myself one if/when I go back to work), maybe a wall calendar of all the grand kids for Grandma and Grandpa, a photo mug for that special someone, oh the list goes on and on!
Needless to say, Shutterfly has numerous products that I LOVE!!!
