Abby and I (and sometimes MJ) have been enjoying a few Disney movies lately. I figured that they were a safe choice, outside of having to be careful of the whole "happily ever after", Prince Charming/need a man to be happy, the pretty girl always wins issue. Abby loves the Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch and Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure at the given moment.
Well, the last few days Abby has been dropping the six letter "s" bomb..."stupid". I thought that she picked it up from MJ as he has a small tendency to use it (along with a thick Italian accent) but usually not in front of Abby. For the last few days, I have been giving a hard time about teaching Abby the "s" word and the last few days he has denied responsibility. That is until today. While watching Lilo and Stitch we heard them use the "s" word. No, I refused to believe that Disney supported such language. Then, while watching Tinker Bell we heard it again, more than once.
Michael, I have to say I am sorry for giving you such a hard time on this one. I don't say this very often but, I was wrong on this one ;)
What has this world come to? Not even Disney is safe anymore!!
Follow along as we document our latest journey, the joy of being SECOND time parents!

Thankful
Today I am thankful for (in no particular order):
-snuggle time with Abby
-the roof over our head
-"cleaner" personal hygiene product from Earth Mama Angel Baby, Everyday Organics and Beauty without Cruelty
-non-girly Disney movies for my little girl, not princess, to watch
-Visits from out of town family who are loved and missed more than they know ;)
-warm bath robes
-long car rides (for the naps that Abby and I get to take while on them!)
-Stove Top stuffing
-Grown men who don't mind watching silly cartoons over football
-A livingroom filled with folding chairs, banquet tables, old memories from long ago happenings, and family members who mean more than their official title would imply
-the humor and innocence of a two year old
-Pickled vegetables
-Christmas music on Thanksgiving Day
-A husband who loves me for all that I am, past, present and future and all that comes with that
-Facial expressions that say just what you were thinking without having to say a word
-Stretchy pants
-Cousins who play together well and make memories that will last forever
-Still moments
-Cuddle time with Mommy and Daddy and wanting to "sleep "right here" on the couch with you Mommy" proclamations
-The insight to know that there are a million little and big things to be thankful for in each given day and not to take any of them for granted
I hope your Thanksgiving Day was as special and blessed as ours!

Family Photos
We have been a family for over two years now so we figured we should probably make the time to get some family photos done, especially since MJ and I usually try to hide from the camera! After a scheduling nightmare and bad directions on my iPhone we finally made it out to Dorr for our shoot (I didn't have a clue where Dorr was until now...). Unfortunately, Abby had been sick the few days before and was a little drugged up on Benadryl due to those misdirections and added time in the car so she wasn't really feeling it, but we did get a few decent shots. Here they are:
Like what you see? Jump on over to Christy Pacanowski to see more of her work. To Christy, thank you SO much for your hard work, your willingness to squeeze us in (and spending some extra time trying to warm Abby up to the camera), and your continued communication! You were a pleasure to work with again!

Happy Halloween
Sort of... Ms. Kathy from Abby's school called me around 4:00 to tell me Abby was running a bit of a fever. When I picked up from school she was playing with her dolly Sarah and seemed to be fine so we packed up and headed to Gramps and Grandma D's for a little pizza and trick or treating. After a short nap on thar car Abby decided that she was not in the mood to do much of anything. A few trick or treaters came to the door so she wanted to go out as well so we had to talk her into putting on her costume....well some of it that is. Without her ears and collar it was hard to tell that she was a cat. Oh well, maybe she will feel better in a day or two and we will try again so I can get a picture of her to shAre with all of you.

Sports Fan in the Making
So it's baseball playoff season mixed in with football season (and hockey too)...dies it get any better than this? I'm not sure. Well with all these games (and a Grandma who LOVES sports) Abby has become a fan.
Grandma first taught her "Go Blue" then decided she should add Broncos for me (since iI am a WMU Alumna you know) a few weeks ago.
Then last night Abby picked up "Gooooo Tigers":
Then when MJ and I got excited about a play we realized Grandma D must say "wooo baby!" a lit too. It was just too cute:
Here is hoping for a Tiger's win tonight!!

Go Abby Go
Abby loves to visit Gramps and Grandma D for lots of reasons and it think one of the current reasons is so that she can ride her bike. She is getting pretty good at it too:
I can't believe my little Peanut is big enough to do this! It is crazy to think about what next summer will bring...

You Still There?
Hello? Anyone still checking?
Well, hey there! Thanks for hanging around and sorry for the lack of posts. Not much I can say other than, well, I've been slacking! But here I am and I am making a personal commitment to blogging on a regular basis again. I miss chatting with all of you (if you want to call it that) and need to take some time for myself more often. So stay tuned, I promise to give you a little reading material to enjoy soon.
