We tried a few doctors today and everyone wanted to wait until Monday or so to see her. They said that they wanted to wait for the swelling to go down before doing anything. At that point I was feeling a bit defeated and concerned but then Michael came to the rescue with a recommendation from our friend Mary!! We called Dr. Jones and we have an appointment for 8:30 tomorrow.
But all in all, Abby had a good day. She got mad at the splint three times and tried to take it off. It took a little finessing, but in the end we got her to keep it on. It is amazing what a sucker or M&M can do!
Follow along as we document our latest journey, the joy of being SECOND time parents!

Visit to Urgent Care
On my way home from work MJ told me that Abby fell off the bed today while playing with Gracie but she seemed to be ok other than wanting to snuggle a little more than usual. Since Abby has been teething again that didn't surprise either one of us.
As the day went on Abby kept telling Daddy that she fell off the bed but when he asked if she hurt she would say no. Her obsession with falling was not out of place either since all last week when asked how she got the boo-boo on her knee she would respond "Momma pushed me" (for the record I did not push her, she tripped over the hose as I moved it). The girl has a great memory and loves to share!
When I got home from the grocery store (with a few goodies for Abby in tow) MJ asked if her wrist looked swollen. I couldn't be positive but I did notice that she wasn't using her right hand much. MJ said she had been using it to hold her cup earlier but I couldn't get her to pick up her spoon or hold her Jello cup with it. After some debate we decided to hit the Urgent Care...
On our way with Peanut and Ellie too. Abby didn't want to go--she kept saying "no doctor M Mommy, no".
Once we got there We passed our time by snacking on cookies and Goldfish
And singing our ABC song
Other than not wanting to use her hand I really debated if she was hurt or not.
Abby was a trooper during the X-rays. She cried but stayed still for the most part. The bright light seemed to scare her the most.
Shortly after the x-ray the dr. came to give us the results. Poor Abby broke her forearm and needs a splint until we can get into see the orthopedic dr sometime tomorrow! The nice nurse gave her an orange lollypop while the worked on the splint. Abby really enjoyed that. I think the worse part was having to sit still until it dried!
So her we are, snuggled up in bed. Abby is sleeping, Mommy is blogging and Daddy is looking for a teaching job. I can't say that I enjoyed tonight but I can say that I am thankful that we are nursing a simple broken arm. I talked to Stacey tonight who told me I'm taking this well. Honestly all I keep thinking is thank God it wasn't a horrible car accident or cancer or not knowing what is wrong.
To all you moms out there dealing with something more, I wish you peace and good health!!!

Yup, that is currently Abby's favorite song! I'll try to get some video for you to see her singing...soooooo funny!
Here is a quick peek at our 4th of July fun (thanks to Dara!):
Abby waiting for the parade
More candy please
Good old fashion family time
Peanut enjoyed the festivities too
Abby dancing to the beat of her own drum...or was that music from the parade?
And then there is this one, my personal fav!!!
Hope you and yours had a happy and safe 4th of July!!
